Robert
Micallef employed as an economist with the European Commission
and worked with the European Union Delegation to Malta. In
1999 Robert Micallef was nominated as an official member of
the European Union Presidency Delegation to the United Nations
General Assembly. He has also worked as a management consultant
in Malta and abroad.
Robert Micallef studied politics and economics at the University
of Oxford (UK) and was awarded the British Chevening Scholarship.
Later he graduated Master of Arts from the oldest graduate
school in international affairs in the USA, the Fletcher School
of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts-Harvard) and was awarded a Master
in Business Administration from a leading French Business
School (Grenoble Business School).
Robert was elected member of the leadership bureau of the
European Youth Forum (Brussels) responsible for external relations
and the United Nations. He participated in the founding congress
of the Party of European Socialists and was elected general
secretary of the European Socialist Youth as well as European
Secretary of the International Union of Socialist Youth (Vienna).
He was also elected President of the National Youth Council
of Malta and President of the Ghaqda tal-Malti.
